Rotterdam Street Culture Week 2026 Brings Music, Breaking, Skateboarding and More to the City

Rotterdam Street Culture Week (RSCW) returns from August 17–23, 2026, bringing together some of the city’s most influential street culture disciplines for a week of music, sport, creativity, and community.

Rather than placing different creative scenes in separate spaces, RSCW brings them together under one program. Skateboarding, breaking, panna, music, street art, spoken word, gaming, and other forms of street culture will be represented throughout the week before the program comes together for the main festival weekend.

The result is a city-wide celebration of the people and communities that continue to shape Rotterdam’s creative identity.

Lavils to Take the Stage

One of the musical talents featured during this year’s edition is Lavils, a Rotterdam artist who will perform during the main festival weekend.

Lavils is scheduled to take the big stage on August 22 from 20:30 to 21:00, giving audiences an opportunity to experience his music as part of a wider program celebrating Rotterdam’s creative scene.

His inclusion highlights one of the central ideas behind RSCW: providing a platform for local talent alongside a broader community of artists and creators.

Connecting Rotterdam’s Street Culture

RSCW is presented by Roffa, a platform focused on connecting Rotterdam’s street culture community.

The organization places accessibility and community at the center of its work, with the festival designed to create space for people across different disciplines and backgrounds.

An important part of RSCW’s annual campaign is its focus on twelve local “Gamechangers.”

These individuals are recognized for their contribution to their respective disciplines and communities. Their work can span areas including street football, dance, gaming, and Rotterdam’s queer community.

By highlighting these individuals, RSCW puts a human face on the city’s street culture and gives audiences an opportunity to learn about the people contributing to its development.

More Than a Festival

RSCW is ultimately a reflection of Rotterdam’s grassroots creative community.

For one week, different parts of the city’s street culture become more visible, creating opportunities for audiences to discover disciplines they may not normally encounter and for creators to connect with one another.
