Jordy Mulch Talks Music, Creative Growth and His Upcoming EP Ruimte Vrees

Amsterdam-based Dutch rapper Jordy Mulch recently joined Swag Best Music for an exclusive interview, discussing his musical journey, creative development, latest single “Is Het Over,” and what listeners can expect from his upcoming EP, Ruimte Vrees.

During the conversation, Jordy reflected on the experiences that have shaped him as an artist and the evolution of his sound. His approach combines elements of hip-hop, pop, and Afrobeats, allowing him to move between different styles while maintaining his own artistic identity.

Finding His Own Sound

For Jordy, developing as an artist has involved exploring different musical influences while remaining connected to the experiences that inspire his work.

His music brings together several genres, creating a sound that can move between hip-hop, pop, and Afrobeats. Rather than limiting himself to one particular style, Jordy uses these influences to create music that reflects where he is creatively.

That evolution can also be heard in his latest single, “Is Het Over,” a track connected to themes of love and personal experiences.

Turning Personal Experiences Into Music

During the interview, Jordy spoke about the role that personal experiences continue to play in his songwriting.

Love and relationships have become important sources of inspiration, allowing him to translate personal emotions and experiences into music. This personal approach gives his songs an opportunity to connect with listeners who may recognize elements of their own experiences in his work.

For emerging artists, finding that connection between personal experiences and creative expression can be an important part of developing an authentic identity.

Looking Ahead to Ruimte Vrees

Jordy also offered a look at his next chapter with the upcoming EP Ruimte Vrees.

While the project represents another step in his musical development, it also gives listeners an opportunity to hear how his sound continues to evolve. His excitement surrounding the EP reflects the work that has gone into reaching this stage of his career and building toward what comes next.

For fans who have been following Jordy’s music, Ruimte Vrees will provide a chance to hear more of the direction he is taking as an artist.

Advice for Emerging Artists

Beyond his own career, Jordy shared a message for fellow artists and music creators who are working to establish themselves.

His advice centered on patience, dedication, and consistency. Building a career in music rarely happens overnight, and Jordy emphasized the importance of continuing to work toward your goals even when progress takes time.

That message is particularly relevant for emerging artists navigating the early stages of their careers, where staying committed to the creative process can be just as important as talent.
