Düsseldorf is set to welcome the Afro Sundown Festival on September 19, bringing together African music, culture, and community for an afternoon and evening of international sounds.

Starting at 2:00 PM, the festival will bring an international lineup of DJs to Düsseldorf, with artists representing cities across Germany and beyond, including London, Amsterdam, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Munich, and other parts of NRW.

A Celebration of African Sounds

Afro Sundown Festival will showcase a broad selection of sounds connected to the contemporary African music scene. The musical program will feature Afrobeats, Amapiano, Afro House, and Latin sounds, creating a diverse soundtrack for the festival.

The combination of different genres reflects the variety within today’s African and diaspora music scenes, where sounds continue to travel across borders and influence audiences around the world.

An International Lineup in Düsseldorf

One of the festival’s defining elements is its international DJ lineup. With artists connected to several major European cities as well as different parts of Germany, the festival brings together multiple musical backgrounds in one location.

For Düsseldorf’s music community, this creates an opportunity to experience different sounds while connecting with audiences who share an interest in African and international music.

Music, Culture and Community

Beyond the music, Afro Sundown Festival places culture and community at the center of the experience. Festivals built around music can provide spaces for people to meet, celebrate shared cultural influences, and discover new artists and sounds.

With its combination of international DJs and multiple genres, Afro Sundown Festival aims to create an atmosphere where music and community come together.

As September 19 approaches, Afro Sundown Festival is preparing to bring an international celebration of African-inspired music and culture to Düsseldorf, with DJs travelling from cities across Germany and Europe for the occasion.
